When Sean and Sarah Nicks got married in 2001 and opened the Shoe Centre, Dawlish, Devon it joined together two ‘shoe’ families with Sarah’s Grandfather first opening a factory in Bridgwater, Somerset in 1928 repairing shoes and with her Father joining the family business in 1961. During the 1980’s her family moved into retail with a shop in Minehead, Somerset which Sean’s family supplied from their successful wholesale business based in Teignmouth, Devon which they set up in 1983 having started on Newton Abbot market in 1972. This business employed around forty staff and boasted some ten shops throughout Devon.

Sean and Sarah made the decision to launch their internet site in September 2011 in order to keep up with retail trends and now the Shoe Centre Team are happy to continue their high standard of service and knowledge both in the High Street and on line offering quality shoes at affordable prices.
